Simply put, a serviced office (office hotel) is just what it sounds like – a hotel for offices, where you have the opportunity to rent one or several workspaces. You can choose between open-plan coworking areas with desks, lounges, etc., or work in private office rooms with access to nearby social spaces.
Office hotel and coworking spaces are essentially the same thing, just with different names.
The terms have become mixed and are now more or less interchangeable. There isn’t really a strict definition of the differences, but the idea behind the traditional serviced office was that it would be a temporary solution where every square meter of the space was made up of office rooms.
In contrast, today’s coworking spaces often include more services in the membership, have larger lounges, and are designed more as a permanent solution for companies to base their offices.
Coworking can work in different ways depending on the place you choose.
But at Walborg, we use activity-based spaces, so that those who want to work with focus can do so, while meetings and social interactions take place elsewhere.

You don’t have to coordinate cleaning, furnishings, coffee, reception, tech support, or similar services since all support functions are included.
So, what makes coworking an attractive option? The advantages are numerous, and the reasons can vary between different types of businesses, especially depending on their size:
What all have in common is access to flexible lease agreements with short notice periods, making coworking a low-risk alternative compared to traditional solutions.
A traditional office often involves long-term contracts and becomes expensive when you add up all the associated costs.
With coworking, you typically reduce ongoing expenses since the space is used more efficiently, and costs for services like cleaning, IT, furniture, reception, and office supplies don’t spiral out of control. All of this is often included in a coworking membership.
What’s included naturally varies between different providers.
At Walborg, our idea is that when you become a member, you should have access to turnkey spaces that you can immediately step into and start working in — without a long and difficult onboarding process. That’s why we’ve chosen to include services in the membership that make this possible.
A central part of the membership at Walborg is our ongoing professional service. For example, mail handling, cleaning, WiFi, printer access, coffee, reception, and visitor services are all included in the membership. In this way, we aim to give you the opportunity to focus on your core business.
You can then add a private office, or several if your company needs it. The meeting rooms and studios at Walborg can either be included in the base rent or rented as needed.
Being a member at Walborg is an inspiring and cost-effective alternative for those seeking an office space tailored to their needs – and not the other way around. Our membership is designed to help you find a way of working that suits you, your daily life, and your business. Whether your company has outgrown its previous office and needs more space to grow, or you simply want access to a private office of your own, our membership is perfectly suited for you. With us, you don’t have to worry about long contract periods or complicated property agreements, as we offer flexible terms and short notice periods. If you rent a private office from us, it's easy to switch to a different office size should your needs change.
The sense of community and belonging is another key aspect of what coworking is. From a purely professional perspective, it gives you the opportunity to do business and start collaborations you might not have had otherwise.
At Walborg, you get more than just a workspace. Since you share areas with others, you have the chance to grow in both a social and professional context, where daily breakfasts and weekly after-work gatherings naturally become opportunities to exchange experiences and start new collaborations.
By choosing a coworking space over a traditional office, companies often help each other, share knowledge, and find new ways to work together. From a well-being perspective, many employees appreciate the variety of people, which brings more energy and dynamism to the workplace.
At Walborg, the cost of coworking is determined by the setup you choose for your company.
In addition, there are add-ons such as “Dedicated Desk” and “Private Office,” as well as possible custom arrangements if you need extra time in our studios or meeting rooms.
